Genesis 32 Verse 28.
He touched the socket of his hip and
everything that was in came out of its joint. When God is changing you, He
will separate you from all the evil ways, out of their joints. Whatever that’s
in the socket, the hatred, brokenness, defeat, lies, discouragement were out of
joint, separated from Jacob when God touched him.
When God touches us, He separate us
from the world, He takes us out the dark situation, evil ways. Sometimes He
doesn’t take us out of the situation but He takes us through it because He will
never leave us nor forsake us. Everything that was in the socket He removed.
When God takes you out of friends, out of gossip, out of lies…...know that He
is getting ready to change you.
A touch always looks for something to
feel, something to feel better “if I can touch, I will be satisfied, as long I
can be touched, I will keep on coming back” that’s a touch. We see people who
are touched by waters, oil, church attires and church programs they follow.
Once what touched them is no longer there, they will go out and look for
something similar, it doesn’t matter where they get it as long it looks similar
because all they know is being touched. Looking for something that will touch
their lives, their relationships and their situations.
But when you are changed you know that
you don’t need even to feel something to know that God is with you, because He
has changed you, your perspective and elevated your faith. You know that He
lives in you. You don’t need money touching your pocket to know that you are
blessed but because you have been changed by God even when your pocket is empty
you know you are rich because you are blessed by God. The bible says in the
book of Proverbs” the man who is blessed by God is rich” you know it! Is in
you.
It is good to be touched but want to
be changed by God, because a touch is not enough. The prodigal son was touched
by the father’s wealth that he even demanded his share. He went out of his
father’s house touched by money, spent the money according to how he felt
because he was touched and went broke and lost the touch. Because the touch is
for temporary but the change is for a while. He started feeling lonely, lost
and sad. He could sense that something was missing that’s why he eventually
came to his senses.
Don’t go out of the presence of God
without being changed. It is dangerous to out touched and not changed. Allow
Jesus Christ to change you today.
A changed man is ready to face Esau,
to face his challenges, his mistakes and rectify them. Christians who are not
changed they are reminded every now and then by the pastor that there is a
church service. You will hear the pastor saying “let us do something to
encourage the saints to come to church” they have to be encouraged because
there are used to being touched by things. As long they can be touched by
things, they will keep on coming to church. The moment what they used to feel,
the pastor’s hand on their forehead, the pastor’s handshake, the church’s
approval that they sang well, played well today or dressed well, they cease
coming to church.
But………………a changed man, keeps on
serving the lord even when he is not noticed by the leaders or the church. He
doesn’t need the worship team to sing his favorite song first before he can
worship the Lord. This man is changed, even there are not instruments he still
worship the Lord. Even when they don’t prophesy to him, he still comes to
church.
He has the greater one living in him
and he know Him. Even when other saints’ says” today’s service was boring he
keeps on coming back because he was not only touched but he was changed by God
not by music, pastor’s hands or church’s approval. He knows that is not about
the people and what they are doing but is about Lord Jesus Christ who changed
my situation, my life. He died and rose with me, and when you are raised. You
can’t rise up the same!
“Your name shall no longer be called
Jacob but Israel, for you have wrestled with God and prevailed” you have been
touched and changed”. You have been touched and changed.
When God said “return to Esau, He was
not trying to kill Jacob or hurt him or embarrass him. But He was making a new
man, a new character, a new attitude, a new image out of Jacob. He changed Saul
who was a church persecutor, he changed Simon who was a fisherman to fish
people. He changed their character, their attitude, their speech. I don’t know
what is happening, what I know is that I have been changed. Where you used to
find me, you won’t find me because I have been changed. I know I used to just
come to church and be mixed u with the world at the same time. Well that has
changed because I have been changed. When Lord Jesus Christ changed me, my
situation changed, my interaction with the world changed.
The prodigal son when he realized that
a touch has faded away, he went back to his father and asked to be changed
because he now knows that a touch is for a temporary but a change is forever.
When you read the book of Jeremiah, I
think 18, it talks about the potter who is making the vessel out of clay. And
while he was busy making the vessel, it got marred, messed up in his hands but
he made it again. He didn’t leave it just because it didn’t work out the first
time. Don’t just go to the church service to be just in the hands of the maker
and feel the warm and safety but allow the maker to make changes to you, to
apply what needs to be applied. Allow Him to spot you, elevate you, add to you
and take away from you what is not needed.
It doesn’t matter how messed up you
are like Jacob. What matters is you allow Him. Allow Him to change you today,
to change your situation, your attitude, your character. Don’t go out to the
world without being changed. That’s why today the world can’t differentiate the
Christians from the world because a lot of Christians have not allowed God to
change them. You are not different until you are changed!
Lord Jesus Christ is the Life Changer
who has made us the game changers.
